American Haflinger Alliance ♡ Performance Horse Recording Number
If you’re participating in programs that require identification or registration, please make sure your Haflinger has an AHA Performance Horse Recording Number!
The recording number and certificate is used to identify Haflingers for participation in outside breed programs sponsored by AHA, such as the USDF All Breeds Awards. Known lineage is not a requirement to have your horse recorded. Participation in an AHA Performance Horse program is also not required, and anybody who would like a recording certificate to identify their Haflinger is welcome to request one. Note: We are not a breed registry, and this certificate is NOT a registration document.
- Only AHA members may record their horses. Junior members may be the recorded owner of a horse with a parent or guardian listed as an additional owner.
- There is a one-time lifetime horse recording fee of $25.
- For identification purposes, photos of each side and the face of the Haflinger are required. A copy of your electronic Coggins report is acceptable.
- Updated certificates will be reissued at no charge upon the gelding of a stallion or colt, or for the addition of a microchip number.
- Duplicate certificate requests will require a written statement from the owner on record explaining that the originals have been lost or destroyed.

We welcome recording by all Haflingers that meet the breed standard for appearance, including chestnut coat with pale mane and tail. We do not require Haflingers to be registered or have known lineage, but they must visibly appear to be Haflingers. If it appears your horse doesn’t meet the breed standard for appearance of Haflingers, your application fee will be refunded.
